On August 6, 1945, an atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima, and killed approximately 140 thoughsand people. Visit Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Museum which was established to pray for peace, and not to repeat the tragedy. Your local guide will explain how severe the disaster was.
Then, enjoy a scenic cruise to Miyajima, “Island of God’s”. Itsukushima shrine, which looks like floating on the sea, is probably the most breathtaking shrines in Japan with the history of 800 years, and is regarded as one of the “best three views” in Japan. On the approach to the shrine, you will be escorted to local craft, gourmet, souvenir shops.
For your lunch, grilled conger eel with rice, or oyster dishes can be recommended.
Enjoy an easy hike to Mt. Misen, by passing through a charming red bridge in the maple valley and taking a scenic ropeway. You will see the great view of Hiroshima and Seto Inland Sea with floating oyster farms. Also, you will encounter wild deer, believed as a messenger of God.
