About Hiroshima

Hiroshima  is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture, and the largest city in the ChÅ«goku region of western Honshu, the largest island of Japan. It became best known as the first city in history to be destroyed by a nuclear weapon when the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) dropped an atomic bomb on it at 8:15 A.M on August 6, 1945, near the end of World War II. Hotel Granvia Hiroshima is attached to the Hiroshima train station and is extremely convenient if traveling to the city by train. A tram station is also nearby making sightseeing easy. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and eager to assist. Thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel, covered walkway to Hiroshima station. I would recommend this hotel when visiting Hiroshima.

I spent one wonderful night at Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto during end of summer. The staff was very attentive. We had a traditional room with an excellent view of the red torii gate, which looks even lovelier at night. The highlights were the kaiseki dinner, fresh and seasonal traditional food and the outdoor baths, so very relaxing. Overall I highly recommend the hotel and hope to visit it again.
